Majorette Toyota Corolla AndrosThis 1/57 scale toy car from Majorette represents the Toyota Corolla ice racing car from the famous Andros Trophy. The livery and number suggests this is the 2006 car driven by former Formula 1 driver Olivier Panis. To the untrained eye it looks like your ordinary rally car, but this is as mentioned an ice racing car.

The toy car is loaded is red, blue and white and is loaded with sponsorship decals: Toyota, Samse, Pilot, Val Tho, Majorette, Continental and Andros.

The Corolla has been a part of the Toyota lineup since 1966 and the most recent face lift was the E140 and E150 that was brought onto the market in 2006.

 

Toy Cars Welly Volvo C30This 1:60 scale diecast toy car model of the Volvo C30 hatchback in pearl color was made in the year 2010 by Welly in China (model number 52275).

The model is fairly detailed with Volvo logos on the front grille and on the back. The only thing that slightly drags down the appearance in the simple headlights. But then again this is a toy car not a detailed scale model.

The Volvo C30 was taken into production in 2006 and was Volvo’s first small family car since the Volvo 480 which debuted in 1986.

The car got a small face lift in 2010 with a newly designed front end with new headlights, grill and front panels.

 

Toy Cars Burago Volvo C70This big 1:24 toy car model of the Volvo C70 cabriolet was made by Bburago. The toy car was manufactured in China and comes in red with openable doors and engine hood.

The Volvo C70 was introduced by the Volvo Car Company in 1996 and the first generation of the car was manufactured until 2005. The second generation Volvo C70 came in 2006 and the care shares platform with the S40 and S50. The car was designed by John Kinsey and is being built by Pininfarina Sweden.

 

Toy Cars New-Ray Alfa Romeo 156 GTAThis Alfa Romeo toy car was manufactured by New-Ray and is of the Alfa Romeo 156 GTA model. The model is in black and made in China and is in scale 1:32.

The Alfa Romeo 156 was first introduced in 1997. There have been two face lifts for the car, in 2002 and in 2003. The GTA version of the car was launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2001. It pays homage to the old Alfa Romeo GTA from the ’60s. GTA stands for Gran Turismo Alleggerita (light grand tourer). The GTA models feature sportier gadgets with bigger Brembo brakes, lowered and stiffened suspension and a 3.2 litre V6 engine with 250 PS. The last 156 to roll of the production line was in 2007 and its successor was the Alfa Romeo 159.

 

Toy Cars Hot Wheels Jaguar Formula 1This Hot Wheels Jaguar Formula 1 car comes in shiny British Racing Green with HSBC, Du Pont, UGS PLM, Red Bull Hangar 7, AT&T, R Performance, Castrol, Michelin and Pioneer sponsorship decals. The car is manufactured in Thailand. The sponsors on the car suggests this model represents the Jaguar R5 from 2004. The actual shape of the car is of course not really close to the actual race car. The number 14 was driven in 2004 by Mark Webber of Australia.

Jaguar made its debut in Formula 1 in the year 2000 after purchasing Stewart Grand Prix. Jaguar’s best results in the World Constructor’s Championship were seventh, which they finished in 2002, 2003 and 2004.

2004 was the last year for Jaguar in Formula 1 and the team was taken over by Red Bull to form Red Bull Racing.

 

Toy Cars Matchbox Honda Insight 2010This 1:62 sized model of the 2010 Honda Insight comes from Matchbox. This particular model comes in marron color but four other variations exist: white, silver, metallic blue and metallic light blue. The toy car is manufactured by Mattel in Thailand 2009 and has the model number MB790.

The ”real” (not the toy car) Honda Insight was first introduced into the market 1999 and was an early hybrid electric car. The first model lasted until 2006 and the second generation of the Honda Insight car, the very same that this toy car is a replica of, was introcuded in Japan in 2009. The second generation of the car is now a five-door hatchback instead of the three-door hatchback the predecessor was. The car is labelled as the cheapest gas-electric hybrid car on the market.

 

Toy Cars Junior Driver Peugeot 206 WRCThis model of the Peugeot 206 WRC rally car comes from Junior Driver and is a quite detailed model, from a toy car point of view. The model is of the 2003 rally car driven in the World Rally Championship in 2003 by the late Richard Burns in his final season of rallying, before retiring from rallying after being diagnoses with a brain tumour. Burns never recovered and died two years later.

The Peugeot 206 toy car come sin red with the number 2 start number with TOTAL, Clarion, Sparco, NGK Spark Plugs, Eurodatacar, OZ Racing and Magneti Marelli as sponsor decals.

The Peugeot 206 WRC car was used between 1999 and 2003 in the World Rally Championships and scored 24 victories with drivers like Marcus Grönholm, Gilles Panizzi, Harri Rovanperä and Didier Auriol.

 

Toy Cars Hot Wheels Datsun Bluebird 510The Datsun Bluebird 510 made its debut into the world of Hot Cars toy cars in the 2009 New Models series. This bright yellow Datsun with a black hood with the Datsun name and blue and red stripes and the Leeway Racing logos on the side came a year later in the 2010 Night Burnerz series. The 1/64 scale model features the J5 (Japanese 5 spoke) wheels that Hot Wheels started using in 2010. The model was made in Malaysia and there is one car in an alternative trim (pearl white) released in the same series.

The Datson Bluebird 510 was called the Datsun 1600 outside of the North America and was sold between 1968 to 1974. Datsun is a Japanese brand that sadly doesn’t exist today. It was founded in 1931 and shortly became a brand of Nissan Motor Co. The last Datsun’s to leave the factories came in 1986.

Nissan did however name their D22 truck Datsun in 2001 and 2002. Perhaps the very last swansong of Datsun.

 

Toy Cars Hot Wheels 1967 CamaroHot Wheels have released an almost infinite number of different toy cars based on Chevy Camaros over the years. This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro in satin blue with black and orange graphics was part of the 2009 Dream Garage Series. There were also a few variations to this car with different sizes of the stripes (thin, medium and wide) as well as a Wal-Mart exclusive version which featured the red-line 5 spoke wheels instead of the black PR5′s with blue rims. The model is manufactured in Malaysia.

For people in America the Camaro is quite a legendary muscle car but for the rest of the world perhaps a short introduction is in order. The first Chevrolet Camaro was brought onto the market in 1967 and was designed as Chevrolet’s answer to the popularity of Ford’s Mustang. The platform for the Camaro was shared with the Pontiac Firebird.

To date there have been five generation of Camaro’s. This Hot Wheels toy car is based on the first generation (1967-1969).

 

Toy Cars Hot Wheels DeLorian DMC-12The gloss black DeLorian DMC-12 by Hot Wheels was manufactured in Malaysia in 2010. It features Hot Wheel’s 10 spoke wheels and comes with DMC decals. This 1/64 scale model came in the 2010 New Models series. In the same series there are also the original classic DeLorian DMC-12 stainless steel colorer car and one with gold paint.

The original DMC DeLorian was manufactured in only 9000 copies by the DeLorian Motor Company in Northern Ireland and was only sold in 1981 and 1982 – up until the DeLorian Motor Company went bust.

The DMC-12 was later made famous as the time machine in the Hollywood blockbuster movies Back to the Future.
